The yarn path used in CTextileWeave2D

Post by mojkomei »

Hi

I need to calculate the length of the yarns in a fabric. I know that there is a built in method for CYarn object however, I need to know the analytical formula for it too. Is it using an spline with the nodes to create this line. What kind of spline exactly it is using? Then what can be the formula for calculating the yarn length().

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The textiles created using CTextileWeave2D use Bezier splines for interpolation. A description its use in TexGen can be found in section 2.3.1 here http://etheses.nottingham.ac.uk/archive ... -final.pdf Modelling Theory

The implementation is in the CInterpolationBezier class and the CalculateBezierPoint and CalculateBezierTangent functions are found in mymath.h and are based on the code found here http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/g ... ndex2.html

Hope that helps,

Louise
