Hi,
Multilayered fabrics are used in traditional as well as advanced technical uses and applications of woven as well as con-crimped textile materials. Can texgen support modeling of such multilayered fabrics? If yes, how to proceed? If no, I request the developers to have athought on this and see if the software can be upgraded further to include multiple fabric layers including interchanging yarns between the layers.
Thanks,
Kausik Bal

Hi Kausik,
Yes, Texgen can model multilayered fabrics. You can find an example of how to do this using a Python script here: http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ate_Models
Alternatively you can use the Weave Wizard in the user interface and check the "Create 3D Weave" box. Details of how to use this can be found in the User Guide on the Texgen website here: http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php/User_Guide
Improving the user interface for 3D textiles is on my to-do list but probably won't happen in the immediate future!
Hope that helps,
Louise
