Installing Problem

Post by MIY-TEX »

Hi

I had TexGen for a very long time. Then one day It started showing me a problem that MSVCR.dll is missing and that I need to reinstall the application. Even after doing that I still get the same message.
Note that this same message had appeared on my PC, the previous one was on my laptop.

Does anyone know what to do?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is actually a TexGen problem or not. The TexGen installation provides you with msvcr90.dll which you should find in the folder where TexGen is installed. This is the C Runtime Library for the version of Visual C++ with which the current version of TexGen was built. I'm not sure why it would be looking for msvcr.dll.

Have you tried uninstalling TexGen before you reinstall it?

Have you searched for MSVCR.dll to see if you have it anywhere on your computer? If you do you could try copying it into the TexGen folder to see if that solves the problem.

Failing that you could try installing (or reinstalling ) the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) which you can find here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5555

Not sure what else to suggest...

Best regards,
Louise

Hi,

I search the program files for the TexGen I have and yes I do have MSVCR90.dll one for C runtime library and the other C++ runtime library. But I am still getting the message of search for MSVCR71.dll file. I did uninstalled the program and re installed it again but still the same. Do you think it is my operating system? I will investigate.

Anyway I started working on the program on other PC.

Hi,

I followed your advice and copied the .dll files from one computer to another.
Now my program is working.

Thank you
