I need to construct a braid structure on a tubular surface.
I may need to repeat new patches by rotation and define a close path... It seems to be not supported in the current version.
I want to know if it is possible to build tubular structure using TexGen.
Or if there is any other method for constructing it?
Thank you very much!

Hi,
At the moment there isn't a working rotate function in the TexGen GUI. You would be able to achieve this by writing a Python script to create your yarns. You would have to work out the positions of the nodes in your rotated yarns to place them correctly. You should be able to create your tubular structure but will need to put some thought into how to construct it. The guide to creating Python scripts to use TexGen functions is here http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php/Scripting_Guide
If you want to define a closed path you can create a yarn with the start and end nodes at the same coordinates.
Hope that helps,
Louise
