non crimped yarns

Post by Simon Lux »

Hello,

I need the help of the communtiy again! I create my fabric with the 2D Weave Wizzard. After setting all my properties, TexGen displays me my created Weave.
All the yarns are crimped. The fabric though has non crimped (straight) Warp yarns and just knitted Weft yarns. Now I want to know if there is a posssibikity without writing a Phyton skript (I do not have any knowlege in writing skripts) to create non straigt Warp yarns.

Thanks for you reply

Hi Simon,

Creating a textile with the 2D wizard will always result in crimped yarns. Without using a script you have two alternatives: use the modeller to create your yarns in the GUI with your required positions and orientations. See http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... e#Modeller Alternatively you could use the yarns created by the 2D wizard and move the nodes in the GUI.

If you know your node positions then a script would be more straightforward. Example 2 here http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ate_Models can be adapted so that your node positions are incorporated.

Best regards,
Louise
