Dear Louise
Hi
I want to model a braid textile using python codes or export the python codes of the geometry from another software to texgen but in that software the textile has no contact surface or volume mesh... so my question is that when I run that python script, then the texgen would define surface contacts and define contact between yarns to avoid intersections? and would texgen mesh the textile?
I do not know I am clear or not.
I'm looking forward to you reply.
Thank you so much,
Contact Surface and Volume Mesh

Re: Contact Surface and Volume Mesh
Hi Maryam,
TexGen will only create contact surfaces for models created using the 2D and 3D wizards. There is currently no algorithm within TexGen to work out where contacts surfaces are for other types of textiles.
If you create a textile in TexGen, eg using a Python script, then you could select the intersection correction in the Abaqus Dry Fibre export. If you choose the Regenerate Mesh option then this will adjust your model. This isn't, however, the same as defining contact surfaces in the .inp file.
If you have created a model in TexGen then you should be able to mesh it within TexGen.
I hope that answers your questions.
Best regards,
Louise
