Hi,

There are sometimes issues with the OpenCASCADE library with is used for the IGES export. If you could send me the model which you are trying to export then I could take a look to see if I can find the problem.

Best regards,
Louise

Hi,

I managed to export the IGES file using the faceted option and not joining the yarns. It did, however, take a long time - more than half an hour. Did TexGen actually crash when you tried to export or was it just taking a long time? Is there a reason why you have made the model so large and not just modelled a unit cell? This would significantly decrease the export time.

The export might be more reliable if the binder yarn is cut at a different position. Currently the shape where the domain slices through the vertical portions of the yarn might give problems.

Best regards,
Louise

Hello, The model will be used with ls dyna package at low velocity impact , so I need contacts between yarns and marix. I had not used the unit cell method , if you have any examples please send me its. Thank you

Hi,
Please could you tell me exactly which options you used in the export which made TexGen crash so that I can try to replicate the error.

Thanks,
Louise
