Hi,
I have generated a unidirectional fabric using python scripting. initially, I did setup the yarn resolution [Yarn.SetResolution(90)] to be 40, an then later I changed it to 90 to see what does it effect. I noticed that it did improve the calculation of the volume fraction and also improved the ellipse shape of the yarns. I am just wondering based on what do we decide to set the yarn resolution, what I meant is that how do we decide this is a good yarn resolution? If we go with a high number, is it beneficial to the model or make it worst or vise versa?
Thank you in advance!
Matt

Re: Yarn Resolution
Hi Matt,
The yarn resolution basically governs the number of points that are calculated around the circumference of a yarn. Clearly the higher this is, the more accurately the selected shape will be represented. You will probably find that TexGen takes longer to render as there are more points to calculate and operations which use the surface mesh may also be slower. It's really a matter of personal preference and will probably depend on how accurately you need to represent the yarn outline.
Best wishes,
Louise
