Hello, the texgen package used constrained contacts between fibers-fibers and fiberes -matrix , if possible to use another contact like automatic surface to surface tiebreak. Thank you for help

Hi,

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but if you're wanting to specify specific contacts then you will need to do this in Abaqus (or whichever solver you are using).

Hi Louise,

If I generate my model and export it using ABAQUS voxel file without specifying any periodic boundary conditions and I specify my boundary conditions in ABAQUS, and I am just wondering how TexGen take care of contacts between fiber and matrix? If I am performing damage analysis, how that will affect my results. could you please share your input on that..

Best,
Matt

Hi Matt,

For a composite TexGen doesn't create any contacts between fibre and matrix. Mikhail Matveev's thesis gives a fairly comprehensive overview of damage analysis using TexGen models http://eprints.nottingham.ac.uk/29419/

Hope that helps,
Louise
