Trouble meshing
Hi, when running s cript from abaqus to calculate the effective mechanical properties I get the message:
Warnning:The element set "ftedge" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "fbedge" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "btedge" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "bbedge" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "frontbc" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "backbc" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "topbc" was not imported
Warnning:The element set "botbc" was not imported
I think there is a problem in meshing, the numbers of nodes are not equals.
Thank you

Re: Trouble meshing
Hi,
Please could you send more information about which export method you were using and exactly what you did to get these errors.
Thanks,
Louise

Re: Trouble meshing
Hi, I used export to abaqus voxel file (50*50*50) output yarns and matrix, in abaqus number of nodes is not equal between some sides.Thank you
Re: Trouble meshing
Hi,
By definition in the voxel mesh the number of nodes on each side of the domain must be equal but if your model is not periodic then it's possible that the number of nodes in the yarn node set at opposite sides of the domain might not match. Please check that the yarn surfaces match on opposite sides of the domain and that the yarns are periodic with the repeat matching the domain size.
If you still have a problem could you send the model that is giving the problem please.
Thanks,
Louise

Re: Trouble meshing
Thank you very much, first how to check in texgen that the model is periodic and the yarns match in the modain, I send you a texgen file .I would to send you the compressed file, it exceed the 256KB allowed by texgen forum Thank you
Re: Trouble meshing
Hello, I send you a python script file of trouble meshing example . Thank you

Re: Trouble meshing
Hello, I used texgen to built an orthogonal laminate, I used the function record to save the weave pattern in python file in order to be able to send it for you by email, but does not give me anything, the file was empty. Please help me. Thank you very much
Re: Trouble meshing
Hi,
If you've created your model just use the save option to save the tg3 file and send me that.
Best regards,
Louise

Re: Trouble meshing
Hi,
You can email it to me or put it on Dropbox, OneDrive etc
