I need little bit of help about exporting file in abaqus. I needed a round shaped domain (2D weave) for my work and i have successfully made a circular domain (with the guidance from Dr.Louise), but whenever I want to export the file in Abaqus using dryfiber i am facing with some problems,
1. it takes huge amount of time and software doesn't respond after a while. I guess the radius was little bit big so it might take time, but the software keeps crushing all the time.
2. I tried with voxel export, all i get is, rectangular shaped geometry in Abaqus, but i really need to work with the dryfiber.
I know i might be doing everything wrong here, can anyone help me out from this situation ? Should I upload my .tg3 file so that you can have a look?
The dry fibre export will be slow because you have so many repeats of the yarns in your domain. The export calculates the fibre orientation and volume fraction for each element. Is TexGen definitely crashing or just taking a long time?
The voxel mesh export is only set up to create rectangular mesh - I think it will create a rectangle to match the bounding box of the domain.
You could reduce the time taken for the dry fibre export by reducing the resolution of the yarn meshes. If you render using the X-ray render option you will be able to see how fine the surface mesh is. The volume mesh uses these mesh points as the starting point for generating the mesh.
I was able to export small work piece using dryfibre, eventhough it took me 17 hours to export it.
first of all i was using 3.10 version of texgen.. it was little bit slow while exporting dryfibre file, then if i click on the screen it was not responding for a while, then It got disappeared from the screen. The problem was solved using texgen version 3.11.
but it is slow. i guess it's because of the meshing.
I will try to reduce the resolution as you have instructed. however, I don't have any idea which platform should i use to write the python codes for texgen, because i don't have any background of computer programming . Is it possible to change the resolution using texgen software and it's tools? or do i have to use the python scripting for this.
