Tufted laminate examples

Post by osyerko »

Dear Louise and forum moderators,

Do you have any python script examples of tufted laminates? Or would it be possible to have a python script for creation of at least the tufted laminate that is illustrated on the main page of the wiki devoted to TexGen?
Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Elena

Hi Elena,

The work on tufting was done by a postgrad who left some time ago. The only file that I have related to this is a model for just the tufted yarns. If you look at the tg3 file in an editor (it is just a renamed xml file) you will be able to see the node coordinates etc so you could potentially use this as the starting point for a script to generate something similar. The other yarns in the model on the website home page are just straight yarns so they should be straightforward to either add to the model or a script.

Let me know if you need any more help.
Best wishes,
Louise

Dear Louise,

Thank you! I actually have just seen your answer because have not received a notification from the website about the post (though I activated notifications).
This will help me.

Best wishes,
Elena
