Dear Dr. Louise Brown
I have noticed discrepancies between the elastic properties obtained from your script and those reported in the corresponding research paper. In the paper, the average stress/strain of the entire RVE model was calculated, while your script appears to read field output from a reference point. This approach introduces a potential error when compared to the experimental results reported in the paper.
Could you confirm if my analysis is correct and provide insights into how the effective elastic properties were calculated in your script? Additionally, I would greatly appreciate any ideas or suggestions you may have to eliminate or minimize the errors introduced by using a reference point for stress/strain values.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your response and any assistance you can provide.
Best regards,
Romy

Re: Inquiry about Extraction of Material Properties
Hello Romy,
The method used in the script is described in the paper by Shuguang Li referred to here: https://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.ph ... and_Abaqus
There should not be any errors in values calculated using this method. I'm not sure which research paper you're referring to? When using the method you should make sure that you have done a mesh convergence study to ensure that you are using an appropriate number of voxels.
Best wishes,
Louise
