Hey,
I'm new to TexGen and totally new to writing scripts.
If i want to export only the yarn path or only the surfaces of my fabric, I've to write my own script.
Can anybody give me some advice how to do that?
Thanks a lot.
Cheers, Sebastian

Re: Export yarn path or surfaces of yarns to Abaqus
Hi Sebastian,
An example script which exports a tetrahedral mesh can be found here: http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... xport_Mesh
If you want to export the yarn path you would need to use the CYarn GetSlaveNodes function to get the positions of the interpolated points along the yarn and export these as line segments.
File->Export->Surface Mesh will allow you to export a surface mesh in either VTK or STL format. If you need it to be an ABAQUS export you would need to do something similar but save the mesh elements in ABAQUS format. The section of Python code would look something like the following:
mesh = CMesh()
textile = GetTextile(TextileName )
textile.AddSurfaceToMesh(mesh, True)
mesh.SaveToVTK(filename)
Hope that helps,
Louise
