Hi there,
I have recently discover about this TexGen Software, and I found it very useful for my research on fabric composite. I am beginner with this software and still exploring on generating various forms of fabric architecture using TexGen.
I am trying to create laminates consist of a 5 harness satin weave layer, but I wanted to have different angle orientation between the layers. For example taking the warp yarn to be the reference point for the angle orientation, I wanted to have the first layer where the angle is at 90 degree (warp align at 90 degree) and for the second layer the warp to be at 45 degree. Is there a way to do it in TexGen?

Ammar

Re: Creating Laminates with layers at different angles
Hi Ammar,
You will probably need to write a script in order to generate weaves at 45 degrees. You can generate a single layer in the manner described in section 2 here http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ate_Models
You could then generate a second layer with the nodes offset in the z direction and rotated appropriately.
You could use the GUI to input the yarns but this would probably be more time consuming than writing a script! There is, unfortunately, no way of rotating a weave generated with the WeaveWizard. Implementing the rotate and scale tools in the GUI have been on my to-do list for some time but I haven't got around to them yet!
Hope that helps,
Louise

Thank you for the reply. I will try to learn on how to draw using the script, as I have never use it before.
