Hey,
I have a problem with Simulation in ABAQUS.
After having added a displacement to one Dummy Node I submit the job with abaquscommand. A very small Unit Cell is computed fast and I can examine the Vizualisation and the Field Output.
When I load a large Unit Cell into Abaqus command the computation is faster then I suppose it could be. The Abaqus Viewer shows the undeformed Unit Cell and it looks like there is no valid step data. So there were no computation run.
The comparison of both input-files did not show any difference in Step definition and I could not find any error in the file of the large Cell.
Does anybodyhave an idea why the large cell can not be computed?
All the best
Jost

Re: No valid Step in ABAQUS
Hi Jost,
It is possible that there is a problem with the mesh, possibly the mesh size or element type, or with the contact surfaces.
You need to look at the .dat and .sta files generated to see what error messages have been output. Hopefully this should give you some idea as to where the problem lies.
