Build issues on OS X 10.10

Post by tjdodwell »

Hi TeXGen forum,

I am trying to install TexGen from source on OS X 10.10 .

I get the following (below) error when trying to 'make' TexGen. I note that I am using VTK5.10, which I have built from home-brew and from source, but I get the same error. Looking at the install of VTK I can find a folder 'vtkzlib'; and ccmake for TexGen in happily finding the VTK directory folder. Cant find any hints online re vtkzlib issues.

Any help would be great, Cheers

Hi Tim,

Welcome to the forum.

I haven't built TexGen on OS X myself (and am not sure whether anyone else has managed to do so) so am not sure how much help I will be.

Have you definitely built the vtkzlib project? Presumably the folder you have found has the make files etc in it but can you see the vtkzlib.lib (or OS X equivalent ) in your build folder? (On my Windows system this is in c:/vtk5.10.1/64-bitBuild/bin/Release where VTK_DIR is specified as c:/vtk5.10.1/64-bitBuild). This is all that springs to mind at the moment. I'll take a look when I next boot up in Linux to see what things look like there and let you know if I can see anything then.

Hope that helps,
Louise
