Hi,
I decided to perform my meshing in ANSYS Mechanical which requires me to export a .igs file from TexGen. I have successfully created the textile unit cell in TexGen without any interference at all. However, TexGen takes ages (up to 2 hours) to create the IGES file and when imported to ANSYS mechanical, the geometry is complete broken into surfaces and missing so many geometric information I created previously. Any advice on this?
Thank you very much.

Re: Problem in exporting IGES file from TexGen
Hi,
Apologies for the delay in replying. The IGES export uses the OpenCASCADE library and isn't always terribly robust. It exports just the surface geometry without any information such as orientations. If you use the faceted option (which is more reliable) it will export all of the surface elements that you would see if you use the Render->X-ray option.
The option will be much faster if you uncheck the 'Join Yarn Sections' option but then separate sections will be generated where the repeats in the model join.
Hope that helps,
Louise
