boundary conditions and loads

Post by loyal979 »

Hi all,

I have created a simple 2D model with 2 warp and 2 weft and exported as a volume mesh, so I got the input file along with the orientation and element information. I'm just wondering if it possible to modify the input file specifically edit the boundary conditions so that I have one end is fixed. If it possible to do that how can I proceed to make one end fixed.

Also, how is it possible to apply loads, for example applying concentrated force, in the input file and run it with the use of command line?

if you could upload a sample input file with modifying BCs and loads that would be great.
Thank you,

Matt

Hi Matt,

You should be able to edit the ABAQUS .inp file to change your boundary conditions and loads by editing the file appropriately. I am not an ABAQUS expert and this is really more of an ABAQUS than a TexGen question. You would probably be better asking the question on an appropriate ABAQUS or FE forum.

Best wishes,
Louise

Hi,

Im just wondering, is there a document that explain the input file which generated by TexGen?

I noticed something in the input file from TexGen, the ConstraintsDriver defines extra nodes that not included in the nodes set and Im not sure what they represent. what the ConstraintsDriver represents?

Thanks

Hi Matt,

The input file generated by TexGen implements the method described in Shuguang Li's paper. A link to the paper is given here: http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... and_Abaqus The ConstraintsDrivers are the nodes created to apply loads as described in the paper.

Hope that helps,
Louise
