Hi Everyone,
Is there a way I could generate a circular RVE from Texgen..?
Have a nice weekend.

Re: Circular RVE
Hi Hemanth,
Do you mean that the yarns form a circular shape or that the domain is circular? (Or perhaps both?)
Best wishes,
Louise

Hi Dr. Louise,
The domain is cicular (sector of a circle) but the yarns have lenticular cross section.
Have a nice day..!

Hi Hemanth,
The domain in TexGen is created from a convex set of planes (as described here http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ide#Domain). I think that the closest that you could get to this would be a triangular prism created by a set of 5 planes.
Hope that helps,
Louise

Hi Dr. Louise,
Thank you so much for your replies. Is there a way one can accommodate a circular curve in a Domain set?

Hi Hemanth,
Not at the moment. You would need to write some extra code to do that. At the moment the CDomainPlanes class creates the planes and inherits from the CDomain base class. I guess you'd need to write another class which allowed a combination of planes and curves.
Best wishes,
Louise

Hi Dr. Louise,
Is there a maximum limit on the number planes in a domain set in the current version of Texgen? also how can I access the code of CDomainPlanes class?
Thank you so much.

Hi Hemanth,
I don't think there's a maximum number of planes, although I'm not sure what the maximum number that it's been tested with is. Let me know if you unearth bugs if you try more than the standard 6 planes.
The code is all on GitHub here: https://github.com/louisepb/TexGen
Let me know how you get on!
