Saving TexGen Gui Model

Post by viv12Dhimole »

Dear,

I made some no. of yarns in a Domain in GUI and I checked the way for saving so that at the time of any modification I can able to open that again in TexGen, but the only form is available tg3. I saved in tg3 format but now the file is not opening, I also generate python script for the same model after completing Gui work, so I also tried to get model through python script but that script is also not running so what is the way to open previously worked data(model)again.

If anyone has 3D-4step braided yarn texGen (python) script then please provide for reference.

Thanking you

Best Regards

Hi Vivek,

The .tg3 file is the standard way of saving a TexGen model in the GUI. If you use the File->Open TexGen File option this should then reload the saved file. Be aware that if there is a model with the same name already loaded in the GUI then the file will not load. Look in the TexGen Output tab of the Log Window to see if you have an error message saying that the file could not load because there's already a model of that name loaded.

The tg3 file is basically an XML file so you can edit it in a text editor such as Notepad++. If you want you can make changes (eg filename) directly to the tg3 file.

If you still have problems then you would need to send the tg3 file and/or the script so that it's possible to try and work out what the issue is.

Hope that helps,
Louise

Hello, Dear Dr. Louise,

Ok, thank you, now it's loaded.

May I get the (TecGen) script file of 3D 4step braided.

Best regards
