Dear friends,
I have some quetions about the pocess of export abaqus voxel file. I build a 2.5D model using python , I want to export the abaqus voxel file, but when I try to export it ,I find an error:Unable to creat ABAQUS file: No domain specified. So I clikc the domain, but I don't know how to define the domain exactly.I click the creat the box, and input something like the picture down. I don't know is it the corret way to define the domain, so I export the voxel file in the abaqus to see whether it is wrong or right. And I find many errors :the set appears to be undeined, and only 4 yarns can be seen in the abaqus.
So,I have 3 questions.First is how to define the domain so as to export the corret voxle file.Second is why the yarn in the abaqus cannot be seen. I can only see the matrix and noly 4 yarns.
Third is can the texgen bulit the 2.5D model diretly instead of using python.
Really looking forward to your reply!

Re: some questions about how to export texgen abaqus voxel f
Hello,
Welcome to the forum!
I would suggest that you look at the User Guide http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ide#Domain for information on how to set up a domain and take a look at the modelling theory either in Martin Sherburn's thesis http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ide#Domain or in one of the tutorials on GitHub eg https://github.com/louisepb/PurdueWorkshop2019 It will be much easier to work out what you're doing if you understand the theory behind the modelling.
If you can only see some of the yarns it may be that these are all that are included in the domain that you've specified. Try using the Render->Domain and Trim to Domain options to see what's going on.
The model that you show looks like a 3D orthogonal weave so you could use the 3D wizard to generate this using the GUI.
I hope that helps,
Louise
