how to build a 3d weave model with layer offset

Post by daixuan »

Hello,I buit a 3d weave(layer to layer) model like the picture down, and I want to how to make a deviation like the yellow circles drawing in the picture, which means that each layer will have an offset and the warp yarn will be bend. I know if I build a 2d weave model, I can use the add layer to reach my purpose to some extent, but how can I do it in a 3d model(layer to layer)
Really look forward to your reply, thanks.

Hi,
I'm afraid that there is no facility in TexGen to do this automatically. You will need to move the yarns, either in the GUI or by writing a Python script to do it. You will need to work out which nodes you need to move and then adjust their positions accordingly.

Hope that helps,
Louise
