Hi all,
While exporting the dry fibers, few properties like density, solution dependent state variables and damping alpha values of both fibers and matrix, are getting assigned automatically. Whereas the expansion (coeff. of thermal expansion) value even if assigned are not getting exported although they get exported in the .inp file created by the volume mesh export function. I will attach the screenshot of the MATERIALS section from .inp file created by dry fiber export function as well as the volume export function.
Please look into the issue.

Re: Unwanted properties automatically assigned while exporti
Hello,
The difference is because the input files are set up to do different types of simulation.
The volume mesh file is set up with periodic boundary conditions and equations to provide data for calculating thermo-mechanical properties (hence the incllusion of alpha) using an implicit simulation.
The dry fibre export is set up to do an explicit simulation which is why the parameters that you highlight are set up. If you run this simulation it will apply a displacement as specified in the input dialog.
The input files are text files which you can edit to include the parameters that you need if you wish.
I hope that helps,
Best wishes,
Louise

Hi Louis,
Thanks for the info. I will look into the dry fiber simulation in ABAQUS and I will get back to you.
