Dear forum members,
As you probably know, we made the decision some years ago to make TexGen open source so that it would be freely available to all users. A consequence of this is that we are reliant on external funding, either from grants or industrial collaborators, for the continued development and maintenance of the software. We are about to start to apply for some funding which is aimed at development and maintenance of software and building user communities.
We would like to hear from you, as users. If you have thoughts and/or suggestions for things which would improve/make TexGen more useful for you please leave a comment in this topic or drop me an email. We can't promise to take up all your suggestions, but hopefully it will enable us to put together a bid which will move TexGen forward in a direction which will help the user community.
Best wishes,
Louise
PS. I am about to take two weeks off work so won't respond to messages/emails immediately, but wanted to get things moving so that I can start work on the bid when I return

Hey thanks for all your work so far!
For me it would be perfekt to have a TexGen library in python 3 which I can integrade easily in my IDE (spyder).
Tried it already but couldn't get that running with my limited programming skills.
Regards, Leon

Hi Leon,
We're working on that at the moment. We had stuck with Python 2 previously to retain compatibility with Abaqus if TexGen functions were called from within Abaqus CAE but it seems like this probably isn't a requirement any more.
Not sure how soon it will be but hopefully not too long.
Best wishes,
Louise

Dear Members,
It is a great platform, is it possible to change only one textile color because when we are changing, all is changed for all surfaces simultaneously, for only one textile it is not possible after completing the model.
Thank you

Hello,
I love yoursoftware and the way you solved calculus density with small cylinders simulating filaments.
I am an industrial user, we are based in Morocco, and we are looking for cooperation with your software. we have many questions about the possibilities of your software: for example using it for touch predictions. Could we organize a conference call with my technical director?
Kind regards,
Amine lahlou

Hi Amine,
We are always happy to discuss collaborations. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'touch predictions' but happy to discuss. I am going on holiday at the end of today but will be back in the office from 28th August so maybe we could set something up for after that?
Best wishes,
Louise
