Triangular prism domain in TexGen

Post by viv12Dhimole »

Dear Dr. Louise and TexGeN community,

I am searching if there is the possibility to make an angular plane or triangular prismatic type domain for the unit cell. As I found the available domain type is a box (rectangular or square) only.

Please provide the details if there is the possibility to build such a kind of cell domain ( triangular prism).

Thank you in advance

Hi,

The User Guide describes how to set up planes to describe the domain here: http://texgen.sourceforge.net/index.php ... ide#Domain
The box domain which uses 6 planes is automated because this is the most commonly used domain type. If you want to create a triangular prism then you need to create the three planes to create the triangle as well as the two end planes.
The code, as it stands, will allow any convex combination of planes to be created. We have been working on a utility to create more complex prismatic domains (including concave) which we hope to release in the not-too-distant future.

Kind regards,
Louise
