Incorrect rendering of Textile Volume

Post by mareikeh »

Hi,
I have built a model in TexGen with a python script. When rendering the surface everything looks good, but when the volume is rendered the meshing stands out over the domain. What can be the problem?
Thanks,
Mareike

Hi Mareike,

This is the way that TexGen deals with volume elements. If the elements are cut off along the boundary of the domain then often mis-shaped elements are formed. Instead the elements are left whole and assigned depending on whether their centre point is within the domain. If you look at the opposite boundary you should see that the corresponding element is missing so the mesh is still periodic.

I hope that helps,
Best wishes,
Louise
