Hello!
I'm currently working on a binder yarn path design project and attempting to model it using the CTextileDecoupledLToL class through Python Console. While I appreciate the class's capability to independently manipulate binder yarns within the same layer through its decoupling mechanism, I've encountered a limitation regarding the m_iNumBinderLayers parameter.
As the m_iNumBinderLayers is defined as an integer type, it appears to enforce a uniform number of binder layers across all stacked layers. However, my specific application requires varying number of binder yarns across different layers in the textile structure.
Could you please advise on:
1.Whether there's an existing method to specify layer-specific binder counts in the current implementation?
2.Are there alternative modeling strategies within TexGen that could achieve this multi-layer binder variation?
Thanks!
Achieve Per-Layer Variation in Binder Yarn number Using CTextileDecoupledLToL Class?

Re: Achieve Per-Layer Variation in Binder Yarn number Using CTextileDecoupledLToL Class?
Hi Hanjiacheng,
The CTextileDecoupledLToL class assumes that the number of binder layers in each stack is the same.
I'm assuming that you are using a script similar to the one here: https://github.com/louisepb/TexGenScrip ... Textile.py
The easiest solution that I can think of would be to specify binder/s either all at the top or all at the bottom of the textile which you could then easily delete. For example, the code below would create one of the binders straight along the bottom (the row of 3s).
# Define offsets for the two binder yarns
binderYarns = [[[0, 1, 1, 2, 1, 0],
[3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3]],
[[1, 0, 1, 0, 2, 1],
[2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 2]]]
You could also use the CTextile3DWeave base class to create your textile but I think that the method above would be the simplest.
I hope that helps,
Louise

Thanks a lot for valuable advice! I 'll try it.
