Hi Louise,
Hope you are pleased to entertain me.
I imported a model where I have 24 fibres in warp direction and 26 in weft direction into ABAQUS once I created the dry fibre files for it. The geometry generated successfully, however I got this message regarding the periodic boundary condition in the geometry.
The model "KelaraiAnakIkan" has been created.
The part "PART-1" has been imported from the input file.
WARNING: Abaqus/CAE allows only the first node set in a *EQUATION definition to contain more than one node. Node set BOUND0B violates this rule. The equation using this node set will not be imported. This message is only printed once, so please check all other *EQUATION definitions.
Is that means the peridoc boundary condition is only implemented at the first node set?? I'm not really clear with the warning. Hope you could briefly explain to me..Is that means there is some limitation in importing the whole geometry from TexGen into ABAQUS?

Hi Yanie,
Please refer to the thread "TexGen 3.4.0 export to ABAQUS 6.10-1" which covers this topic.
Best regards,
Louise

Re: *EQUATION Definition
Hi Louise,
Need your clarification in Periodic boundary condition here. I read through the Martin's thesis from the link and precisely focus on the periodic boundary condition (PBC). However, as far as I understand, that PBC only explained the implementation of PBC on fibres. How about PBC on matrix if I exporting in terms of voxel matrix?? HOw you define the PBC in this case? Is it such that the corresponding opposite surfaces of the RVE are discretized into an equivalent distribution of nodes due to the initial periodicity characteristic of composite?

Re: *EQUATION Definition
Hi Yanie,
The periodic boundary conditions described in Martin's thesis are for the dry fibre export.
The voxel mesh export was added at a later date and the boundary conditions are based on the paper given in the voxel mesh export section of the user guide. In this case the node sets for the boundary conditions include all the nodes on the opposite surfaces, both matrix and fibre.
